PLAY MAHLER 1 in a weekend

with Frank Zielhorst

Friday 7th-Sunday 9th April 2017

Bournemouth School for Girls  |  Bournemouth

We are delighted to welcome back renowned Conductor, Frank Zielhorst, for our first ever weekend project. Having recently finished his term as Assistant Conductor with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Frank conducted our debut concert in June 2016 and proved extremely popular with players and audience alike. Find out more about Frank here.

Mahler's magnificent 1st Symphony is a true cornerstone in the orchestral repertoire. Not often attempted by amateur orchestras, the weekend is a great opportunity to get to grips with this thrilling piece of music as well as work with a truly talented conductor.

The goal of the weekend is high-quality music-making. As such, there is a minimum Grade 8 standard requirement and we welcome people whether they have played with us before or not.
